As Coláiste Bhaile Chláir is in Gaeltacht an Eachréidh, we are pleased to offer your child some classes through the medium of Irish as they enter 1st year in Coláiste Bhaile Chláir – PE, Home Economics.
This year teachers in the following subjects, Geography, Business Studies, Music, History and Science will also be placing a strong emphasis on Irish in class for basic instructions with the content taught in English.
This is our 6th year running the Scéim Aitheantais Scoileanna Gaeltachta and we are adding more subjects each year. All our students currently in the Scéim have said their spoken Gaeilge has improved from ‘maith to an-mhaith’ and their written Gaeilge has improved from ‘réasúnta to maith’.
The students in first year who avail of these classes will be the only 1st year group offered a trip to the Gaeltacht and will attend various workshops through Irish, this year students completed cartoon, drumming and cookery workshops in Irish.
