Jan 2020 in TY

Transition Year 2019_20 is halfway through and we are busy as ever.

Some beautiful work has been done by our TY students to brighten our school building and add some character - these small additions to our walls allow the personalities of our students to peep through and we are grateful for each and every contribution.

As January comes to a close we consider the school values of this month - Misneach agus Meas - Wellbeing and Respect. Students have reflected on their own contribution to the programme and wellbeing within it. Since we have opened our new building we have also had some revision of the school rules to ensure we all maintain respect for our environment and each other which will mean the happiest TY programme for all.

Walking trip for all students on Friday 24th January departing school at 9am and returning in time for buses. Bring a packed lunch and wear suitable shoes and a raincoat!

Students are working on their film studies module at present which will allow us to host another Oscars night in May of this year with all 13 movies! Thanks to Vinny O Sullivan for all his hard work with each group.

January 29th is the parent teacher meeting and students are asked to attend with their parents to see how they are getting on in their core lessons; maths, english, irish and their language.

Driving school is also coming up in February for the group and will take place on site this year with both classroom theory test lessons as well as a practical element in the car.

The camino is also just around the corner and more information will be available on the night of the parent teacher meeting.

Students are out on work experience on Feb 10th for the second time.

Keep an eye on all the activities our students are up to here on the calendar of events which is updated as activities are confirmed.
