Galway and Roscommon ETB is the patron of our school — a local education authority established on the 1st July 2013. GRETB is governed under the Education and Training Boards Act 2013 and is one of the largest education providers in the region, empowering over 25,000 students and learners across Galway and Roscommon.
As an ETB community college, Coláiste Bhaile Chláir shares in the vision, mission, and values of GRETB. This means we are a state, co-educational, multidenominational school — open to all, guided by strong values, and committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
To support individuals through learning, to achieve their full potential and contribute to social, cultural and economic development.
GRETB’s vision is “Empowering People for Life” — a vision that is at the heart of everything we do at CBC. Their Strategy Statement 2022–2026 sets out ambitious goals to enhance and promote education and training, offering innovative and responsive programmes for students and learners and quality work environments for staff.
Actively leading in the provision of education and training in the region and influencing the future direction of the sector.
Openness, respectful and inclusive in the treatment of our learners, stakeholders and staff. A culture where diversity is welcomed and valued.
Strong, mutually beneficial partnerships and teamwork, facilitating the sharing of knowledge, ideas, expertise and skills.
Creative and innovative thinking by encouraging new ideas, trying out different approaches and responding to change.
Responsible decision-making, open, honest and transparent in all activities — the Board is accountable for the proper management of the organisation
