Student Services Support Fund
Each year the school asks for additional support to offer a range of initiatives and supports to students. The Student Services Supports fund is essential to ensure we can continue to offer these supports to each child in the school.

- To pay for and subsidize the cost for students for visiting speakers to school to cover a range of wellbeing topics

- Assist with day to day running of the school. As with all schools the grants provided by the DES do not cover our day to day running costs and we rely on additional funding and fundraising to ensure all students have access to a wide variety of educational experiences.
- In the past five years we have used funds from the SSSF:
- to stock the school library and to refurbish it in conjunction with the Parents association and each year continue to purchase new books to increase the stock in library.
- We have purchased and upgraded our radio station equipment for use by the students
- Pay for the full cost to date for the Astro Turf pitch costing 60,000
- Additional equipment for new school gym and extend it into a second room
- Additional seating in the school not provided by the DES, which we can now use for school Musicals when they return
- Additional Music equipment for the Music Department
- New 3D printers and laser cutter for the T4 subject department
- Purchased a new relaxation POD to support students in our Cúnamh class and any student who needs a timeout during the day

In addition to ongoing costs above we also hope to use SSF funds in the next few years for
- Installation of a Sprint Athletics Track, Long Jump area and high Jump area
- Covering of Tarmacadam Courts with Astroturf
- New Pianos for the Music Department
- Additional outdoor seating areas
- Increase number of Solar Panels on School Roof to reduce electricity costs. We currently have 6kW provided by Dept of Education and 10kW provided by Microsoft Community Grants Scheme. This can help us power 10% of the school during some days on March, April and May.
